Maharashtra is very well known for its rich history during Maratha Dynasty especially for its valour & glory related to Gorilla warfare which was one of the best techniques to fight with a handful of soldiers against a powerful enemy; and the most important aspect which made it a hundred percent success most of the times is the diversified terrain of Maharashtra comprising of Coastal Area of Maharashtar State, Forests of Konkan Region, Sahyadri Mountain Range, Plateau of Deccan and Valleys of Godavari, Krishna, Tapi, Indravati, Manjra, Purna, Painganga etc and nevertheless Forests of Vidarbha; out of which the fort & fortresses and historical battlefields situated at the foothills of Sahyadri and on the main & sub-ranges of hills & mountains in Maharashtra are the major attractions for the trekkers, hikers, mountaineers visiting Maharashtra!
